Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi arrived on Friday in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, at the beginning of an Aisan tour that will include Japan and South Korea, MENA agency reported.
The President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi said his country and Kazakhstan are keen on strengthening bilateral economic and commercial relations, and especially boosting cooperation in the developmental sectors, during a press conference Friday with Kazakhstan President Nursultan Abishevich Nazabayev.
Furthermore, al-Sisi stressed on the sectors of education, agriculture, tourism and trade as domains of development projects with Kazakhstan.
"Cooperation between the two countries in fighting terrorism, extremism and correcting the religious discourse are considered one of the most important fields of cooperation, which offers a model for what we can do together in achieving world peace and security," the Egyptian president said.
He assured that relations between Egypt and Kazakhstan are special and that both countries care about consolidating and developing relations to wider scopes, especially on the economic and trade levels, to benefit mutual interests.
Both presidents also discussed pressing regional and international matters.
"We agreed on the importance of uniting the efforts of the international community to push for reaching just and sustainable political settlements to these crises and of coordinating the stance of both countries in Islamic and UN events towards questions of common interests," al-Sisi said.
