Egyptian exports of plastics products have been dropped by 17 percent to record 8.1 billion pounds (US$1 billion) in January-November 2015 opposed to 9.8 billion pounds a year earlier. According to the report released by Egyptian Chemical Export Council (CEC) Monday, Turkey was the largest importer of Egyptian plastic products with imports worth 1.7 billion pounds, seizing 33% of sector's exports by the end of November 2015. Following Turkey, Belgium was the second largest importer of Egypt's plastics with imports estimated at 606.9 million pounds during the first eleven months of 2015 then Iraq whose imports are estimated at 551.5 million pounds. Sudan came at the fourth place among the list of five largest importers of Egyptian plastic products with imports worth 446.5 million then Italy whose imports are estimated at 365.7 million pounds. The report stated that the Egyptian Propylene and Polypropylene Company has captured 24 percent of the total volume of sector's exports with exports worth 1.3 billion pounds during January-November 2015. The report also showed that exports of Procter and Gamble-Egypt hit 917 million pounds followed by Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals Company (SIDPEC) whose exports recorded 901.4 million pounds then Flex P Films Egypt Company with exports worth 569.8 million pounds. According to the report, the exports of Al Amal Company For Plastic Pipes & fittings (Al sharif) recorded 372.9 million pounds while the exports of Ideal Standard International-Egypt hit around 262.6 million pounds.
