Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 29 - 06 - 2015

KAPCI – Egypt's leading paints and coatings manufacturer – recorded strong growth in business with a sales turnover of 1.362 billion Egyptian pounds (US$178.5 million) during 2014. The company chalked out an aggressive expansion strategy for the coming period.
Mohamed Rateb, General Manager of the Sales and Marketing Department at KAPCI, announced that the company is on track to increase its production volume, having reached 90 thousand tons in 2014. Thus, coincides with "KAPCI" new strategy, which entails new markets penetration and boosting sales through exports.
"For full-year 2015, ‘KAPCI' is expecting higher consolidated sales turnover of EGP 2.3 billion based on FY 2014 solid growth, and grounded on the fact that Egypt will continue to be one of the highest potential markets in the region," said Rateb.
Rateb stated that "KAPCI" is anticipating a rise in annual sales for the end of the current year of EGP 1.550 billion, compared to last year's sales comprising exports of EGP 1.362 billion. "KAPCI coatings sales increases despite the slowdown in the domestic market during Q1 of year 2015, enabling it to maintain its leadership position in terms of sales volume in the Egyptian market," he added.
He also pointed out that his company will continue to expand on the international level and increase its export portfolio comprising of 55 countries spread all over the world. Untapped markets are likely to drive "KAPCI" export activities, which contribute around 55% to its overall sales. Besides, expanding "KAPCI" exports portfolio will support the Egyptian economy through bringing in foreign currencies.
"KAPCI" succeeded in achieving around 45% of sales target as of the beginning of the current year, and the company will resume achieving its target. Sales are expected to pick-up during the remainder of the year. However, projected sales volume could drop by only 5% given the semi- stagnation of the market in last February and March.
"KAPCI" has 45 agents and acquires 8 retail outlets spread all over the country. The company is currently working on expanding its agent network to coincide with its adopted ambitious strategy.
Rateb highlighted that "KAPCI" is considered one of the largest coatings company in the world, where it is placed the 67th in world rankings engendering confidence in "KAPCI" brand, which inspired "KAPCI" employees to exert more efforts to acquire larger market shares not only in the Middle East but on the global level.
