Arab Contractors Awarded New Road in Egypt worth EGP557mn

Egypt's leading construction company, Arab contractors is set to undertake one of the country's national road projects with investment cost estimated at EGP 557 million (US$77.8 million), said an official.
Speaking to Amwal Al Ghad on sidelines of Builders of Egypt Forum concluded last Thursday, Saad Al Goyoushi – Chairman of General Authority for Roads, Bridges and Land Transport (GARBLT) – said Arab Contractors is tasked with carrying out Al Fayoum-El Wahat Road project.
Al Fayoum-El Wahat Road is set to run for 125 km, where Arab Contractors would make an extension to a length of 75 km alongside upgrade the existing 50-km road, Al Goyoushi noted.
The Egyptian official further pointed out that Al Fayoum-El Wahat Road extension and upgrading project would be completed within next August.
The project includes building up two lanes of 4 metres in width for each, Al Goyoushi added.
