In July, Egypt Buys 890.000 of Wheat worth EGP1.6bn

During July, Egypt's state-run General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) purchased 890.000 tonnes of wheat, at total cost of around 1.6 billion Egyptian pounds ($223.7 million).
Egypt has made July's purchases through four successive tenders.
The first tender made on July 2nd, the authority bought 240.000 tonnes of Romanian and Russian wheat, for shipment August 11-21. Out of the total in first tender, GASC purchased 180.000 and 60.000 tonnes of Romanian and Russian wheat, respectively, at average price of $262.81 a tonne.
The second tender, made on July 9th, included the purchase of 240.000 tonnes of Romanian wheat, for shipment August 21-31.
Furthermore, GASC's third tender, made on July 24th, included the purchase of 235.000 of Russian, Romanian and Ukrainian wheat, for shipment September 1-11. Out of the total in third tender, GASC bought 120.000 of Russian wheat, 60.000 of Romania's and 55.000 of Ukraine's at average price of $256.66.
For the fourth tender, GASC bought Wednesday, July 30th 175.000 tonnes of Russian wheat at average price of $260.60, for shipment September 11-21.
