On the sidelines of Quds day rallies on Friday, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Iran is ready to send humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and it has asked Egypt to grant a flight permit. Iran is ready to send a plane carrying medical consignment to Gaza and transfer the wounded Palestinians to Iran for treatment, Zarif said. He expressed hope that the Egyptian government would take immediate action in issuing a flight permit. Rafah border crossing, which is the main crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip, is the only way to send humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. Asked whether some MPs will visit Gaza aboard this plane, the foreign minister said only humanitarian aid will be sent.
