Iran Says Waiting Egypt's Response to Send Aid to Gaza
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 26 - 07 - 2014

On the sidelines of Quds day rallies on Friday, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Iran is ready to send humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and it has asked Egypt to grant a flight permit.
Iran is ready to send a plane carrying medical consignment to Gaza and transfer the wounded Palestinians to Iran for treatment, Zarif said.
He expressed hope that the Egyptian government would take immediate action in issuing a flight permit.
Rafah border crossing, which is the main crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip, is the only way to send humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
Asked whether some MPs will visit Gaza aboard this plane, the foreign minister said only humanitarian aid will be sent.
The International Quds Day, which falls on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, is intended to highlight the occupation of the Palestinian lands by Israel and show solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian nation.
‘International law has never been mocked to this extent'
Pointing to the Israeli offensive in Gaza, the Iranian foreign minister also said the "international law has never been mocked to this extent".
Talking in a gathering of representatives of the international organizations and the Islamic Cooperation Organization on Thursday, Zarif said it is so "disgraceful" that some sides defend mass killings and even attack a place provided by the UN for the displaced Palestinians as "legitimate" defense, Zarif stated.
He described the killing of the Palestinians, specifically children and women, as a ‘war crime', adding that the Zionist regime's actions can only be called ‘genocide, crime against humanity and international crime'.
He went on to say that, it is necessary for the Islamic countries to insist that the international community should counter the Zionist regime's inhuman actions.
Israel has started an intensive attack on Gaza from air, land and sea. The death toll in the coastal strip has exceeded 800 with children and women as the main victims.
