Egypt and Jordan signed 10 agreements to expand cooperation in investment, tourism, youth, and other sectors, as Prime Ministers Moustafa Madbouly and Jaafar Hassan co-chaired the 33rd Egyptian-Jordanian Joint Higher Committee meeting in Amman on Tuesday. The pacts include a 2025–2026 executive program between Egypt's General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) and the Jordan Free and Development Zones Group (JFDZ), signed by Egypt's Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat and Jordan's Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Qudah. The pair also activated a memorandum of understanding between Egypt's Ministry of Religious Endowments and Jordan's Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs. Consumer protection bodies from both countries agreed on a cooperation framework, with Ibrahim Elseginy, chairman of Egypt's Consumer Protection Agency, signing alongside Qudah. Local governance cooperation was formalized in a deal between Egyptian Minister of Local Development Manal Awad and Jordan's Minister of Local Administration Walid Al-Masri. The two nations' antiquities authorities agreed to protect and recover cultural property and combat illicit trafficking, with Minister Al-Mashat signing for Egypt and Jordan's Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh A. Al-Kharabsheh representing Amman. Minister Al-Mashat also concluded an executive program for scientific cooperation between Egypt's Institute of National Planning (INP) and Jordan's Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, signed with Minister Zeina Toukan, and a youth cooperation pact covering 2025–2028 with Jordan's Minister of Labour Khaled Al-Bakkar. Finance ministries signed an MoU on public procurement and agreed to launch a high-level financial dialogue. Egypt's Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk signed with Jordanian counterpart Abdalhakim Shibli. Prime Minister Madbouly and his counterpart Hassan closed the meeting by signing the official minutes of the session, underscoring the two countries' push to deepen economic and institutional ties.
