The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed marginally higher on Tuesday, supported by gains across most indices, with strong buying from local investors and non-Arab foreigners offsetting Arab selling, exchange data showed. The benchmark EGX30 index edged up 0.03 per cent to 34,085.74 points. The EGX33 Shariah index gained 0.76 per cent to 3,480.44 points, while the EGX70 small- and mid-cap index rose 0.41 per cent to 10,197.03 points. The broader EGX100 index added 0.42 per cent to 13,776.82 points. Market capitalisation stood at 2.39 trillion Egyptian pounds. Egyptians were net buyers of shares worth 735.9 million pounds, and non-Arab foreigners bought a net 5.08 billion pounds. Arab investors were net sellers of 5.82 billion pounds. Top Gainers 1. Shares of Misr Oils & Soap soared 19.99 to close at 147.100 Egyptian pounds a share. 2. Shares of M.B Engineering jumped 10.28 per cent, closing at 2.790 per share. 3. Shares of Osool ESB Securities Brokerage went up by 10.19 per cent, to close at 1.190 Egyptian pounds per share. Top Losers 1. Shares of Egyptians Real Estate Fund Certificates sank 5.24 per cent, to close at 13.010 Egyptian pounds a share. 2. Shares of Golden Pyramids Plaza dived 4.88 per cent to close at 0.935 Egyptian pounds a share. 3. Shares of Contact Financial Holding fell 3.70 per cent closing at 5.200 Egyptian pounds a share.
