Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said on Monday that Libya's stability is an integral part of Egypt's national security. He reaffirmed Egypt's full support for efforts aimed at restoring stability, unity and development in Libya, while coordinating closely with Libyan stakeholders and the leadership of the Libyan National Army. During a meeting in New Alamein with Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, commander of the Libyan National Army, President Sisi stressed Egypt's commitment to preserving the unity of Libya's state institutions. He also highlighted the need for enhanced coordination among Libyan parties to formulate a comprehensive political roadmap that enables simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections. President Sisi further reiterated Egypt's firm stance on rejecting foreign interference and called for the withdrawal of all foreign forces and mercenaries from Libyan territory. For his part, Haftar expressed appreciation for Egypt's pivotal role in restoring security and stability in Libya. He praised Egypt's consistent support for the Libyan people since the start of the conflict and lauded its efforts to share its development experience and expertise through leading Egyptian companies.
