Egypt is participating in the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York 2025 from June 29 to July 1, with 45 food companies showcasing various sectors of the Egyptian food industry, the Food Export Council reported. The products on display included frozen fruits and vegetables, pasta, confectionery, snacks, canned foods, juices, tomato sauces, dairy products, cheeses, honey, jams, edible oils, olives, pickles, and more, all well-received in the US market. Egypt's food exports to the United States reached $322 million in 2024, while exports during 2025 to date have recorded around $57 million. The United States imported $211 billion worth of processed and fresh food products in 2024, making it the world's top food importer. A study by the Food Export Council highlighted Egypt's top 20 food exports to the United States in 2024, showcasing a diverse mix of processed and fresh products that have gained traction in the American market. Vegetable preparations topped the list with exports worth $37 million, followed by frozen strawberries at $31 million and frozen vegetables at $30 million. Egypt also exported yeast worth $23 million and frozen artichokes at $20 million. Other notable exports included salt at $18 million, essential oils and resins valued at $11 million, and pasta at $10 million. The official Egyptian participation was organised by the Food Export Council (FEC) in cooperation with the General Organisation for International Exhibitions & Fairs, according to the announcement.
