10th of Ramadan City, one of Egypt's largest industrial hubs, welcomed a delegation from ten West and Central African countries to explore the country's experience in developing and managing industrial zones, the Egyptian housing ministry said Monday. The visit — organised by Egypt's Industrial Development Authority (IDA) in cooperation with the 10th of Ramadan Investors Association — included representatives from Morocco, Tunisia, Côte d'Ivoire, Cameroon, Senegal, Mauritania, Mali, Republic of the Congo, Chad, and Gabon. During a high-level meeting at the Investors Association headquarters, Alaa Abdallah Mostafa, head of the city's development authority, highlighted the city's role as a model of integrated industrial and urban planning, with modern infrastructure, strong investor appeal, and access to affordable housing and public services. "10th of Ramadan is not only a hub for industry but a living example of sustainable urban development," Mostafa said, citing the light rail link to Greater Cairo, a planned dry port, and expansion of housing services. Mohie Hafez, vice president of the Investors Association, outlined Egypt's investment incentives, including tax breaks and legal advantages under the Investment Law. He noted that the city has the highest concentration of factories in Egypt. The visit concluded with a tour of several large-scale factories, where the delegation praised the level of industrial organisation and infrastructure. Officials expressed strong interest in benefiting from Egypt's experience to develop industrial cities in their home countries and boost cooperation with Egypt in sustainable industrial development. The visit reflects Egypt's commitment to enhancing South-South cooperation and sharing its development expertise across the African continent, the ministry statement added.
