Egypt on Sunday strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted the Damanio military camp of the Somali army in the capital Mogadishu, which killed and injured dozens. In a statement, the Foreign Ministry expressed Egypt's full solidarity — government and people — with the Federal Republic of Somalia during this painful time. It reaffirmed Egypt's continued support for Somali national institutions and their security and military capabilities to help them counter all forms of violence, terrorism and extremism, and to extend state authority over the entire territory. Egypt also offered its condolences to the Somali government and people, as well as to the families of the victims, and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
