Egypt's SCZone, Maersk discuss boosting cooperation in green fuel, logistics

Egypt's Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) held talks on Thursday with Danish shipping group AP Moller–Maersk to explore deeper cooperation in logistics, green fuel production and bunkering services, the SCZone said in a statement.
SCZone Chairman Walid Gamal El Din met with delegation from the global shipping giant led by Camilla Jain Holtse, vice president and head of Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs, to discuss expanding the company's presence and investments in the zone.
Gamal El Din reaffirmed the SCZone's commitment to positioning itself as a hub for sustainable maritime services and logistics, citing Maersk's pioneering role in decarbonising global shipping. He also highlighted the 2023 docking of Maersk's first green-fuel-powered vessel at East Port Said as a milestone in Egypt's green transition.
He added that the SCZone's integrated ports, logistics hubs and industrial zones, along with its strategic location, offer a competitive platform for green fuel supply and global supply chain operations.
The talks come as Egypt seeks to boost foreign investment in the SCZone and promote clean energy partnerships with global industry leaders.
