Egypt's Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania Al Mashat participated in the 2025 edition of the CCE MENA Forum in Cairo, organised by the French Foreign Trade Advisors (CCE) under the patronage of French President Emmanuel Macron. Speaking at the forum, Al-Mashat underscored the strategic partnership between Egypt and France, describing President Macron's visit to Egypt in April as a milestone that ushered in a new phase in bilateral relations, marked by the signing of several international agreements across various sectors and reflecting a shared commitment to sustainable development and regional stability. Al Mashat emphasised the urgency of addressing climate change, noting it is no longer a distant threat but an immediate reality. She outlined Egypt's approach to environmental transition, which focuses on climate innovation, green investment and strategic planning for a more resilient future. She called for bold solutions, including modern technologies, digital tools and circular economy models to support growth while reducing carbon emissions across sectors such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture and low-emission transport. Highlighting Egypt's NWFE platform — which links water, food and energy projects — she presented it as a model for coordinated and impactful climate action. The minister stressed the central role of the private sector not only as a financier but as a strategic partner in achieving sustainable transformation. She noted the importance of creating a transparent, stable investment environment to empower companies to adopt clean technologies and develop sustainable supply chains. Al Mashat concluded by affirming Egypt's commitment to enabling private sector participation, attracting foreign investment and fostering innovation to advance sustainable economic growth.
