Egypt's Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly convened a meeting to assess the progress of the electronic immigration platform designed to simplify the entry of tourists arriving at Egyptian ports, a Cabinet statement said. Madbouly emphasised the government's commitment to supporting the tourism sector, recognising its importance as one of the promising sectors in the Egyptian economy, the statement added. He stressed the importance of enhancing the tourist experience in Egypt for foreign visitors by improving entry and exit procedures at Egyptian airports with the latest global systems and technologies. Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat showcased an overview of the project to develop the electronic visa platform for tourists, which aims to simplify their entry procedures at Egyptian airports. In this regard, Talaat emphasised that the system's development aims to change the tourist visa process from paper-based forms to a more efficient digital issuance system, as per the statement. This transformation is intended to reduce congestion at airports, improve the working environment, and enhance the efficiency of tourism services, while also boosting Egypt's competitiveness on the global stage.
