Egypt's Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly held a meeting with German Ambassador to Egypt Jürgen Schulz to discuss key issues of mutual interest and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation, as per a Cabinet statement. Madbouly expressed Egypt's keenness to deepen economic relations with Germany, increase Egyptian exports to the German and European markets, and attract more German investments to Egypt. He also highlighted Egypt's hope for Germany's support of Egyptian interests within international arenas, including the European Union. The Prime Minister underlined his anticipation of Germany's backing in accelerating the approval and disbursement of the second €4 billion tranche of the European financial assistance package, with trilateral consultations expected next May between the European Council, Parliament, and Commission. Madbouly praised the signing of a cooperation agreement on the transfer of skilled labour to Germany, noting its mutual benefits and Germany's support for Egypt's efforts in advancing technical education and curriculum development to supply skilled workers for both countries' markets. For his part, Ambassador Schulz affirmed that Germany's incoming government would continue to strengthen cooperation with Egypt across various sectors. He welcomed enhanced coordination between the two countries in international forums and commended Egypt's efforts in supplying trained technical labour to the German market amid a shortage of skilled workers. The meeting also addressed broader regional and international developments, as well as the current global economic situation and its impacts. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: M. S.
