Egypt's Telecom Regulator: Detecon Finalizes Pricing Integrated License

An official source in Egypt's telecom regulator - the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) , has asserted that Detecon Deutsche Telecom which selected as a House experience for pricing integrated operator license services has finalized its report concerning the prices of the license and presented to NTRA's Technical Committee.
The source added to Amwal Al Ghad that the committee will offer the last report on NTRA's broad of directors as a prelude for presenting it to Cabinet before offering in the market.
The source pointed out that the current political problems and the last Cabinet reshuffle, in addition, the violence which is currently taking place in Egypt will affect on the license to be offered on time.
The source has emphasized that NTRA is working normally to complete offering the integrated license without being affected by the appointment of new CEO for NTRA, Eng. Hesham Alayli.
Many sources have expected that the measures of offering integrated license pricing will be completed within the first half of next August and delaying the time of offering which scheduled to offer in July end due to the current political events.
NTRA explained in previous statements that TE and the other 3 mobile phone operators are facing six major problems related to quality standards as well as TE's claims to make amendments on the current interdependence accords to be in its favor.
TE and the 3 mobile operators shall reach a compromise over the 6 pressing problems before obtaining the long-awaited integrated license, the source added.
NTRA said TE has continued to back the network providers operating in the market in exchange for obtaining fixed internet services.
The source further stated that NTRA is seeking to resolve the disputes between TE and its affiliate TE Data over ‘Converting Internet Customers' ahead of granting TE with the integrated license.
He has pointed out that interdependence issues between TE and Etisalat Egypt are one of the outstanding problems between the two companies which must be solved as soon as possible, asserting that the share of TE in Vodafone Egypt estimated at 45% which does not come within the points that targeting to solve by NTRA.
