Egypt and Armenia held consultations focusing on enhancing cooperation across various sectors, particularly increasing bilateral trade and investment, as well as collaboration in technology, pharmaceuticals, energy, expertise exchange, and infrastructure development. During the talks, the Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Wael Hamed highlighted Egypt's favourable investment climate, citing competitive incentives and advantages, especially within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone). The two sides also discussed migration and the regulation of Egyptian labour movement to Armenia. They reviewed contractual matters related to several joint agreements currently under negotiation. The session also covered regional and international issues of mutual interest amid ongoing developments in the Middle East. The Egyptian official outlined Cairo's efforts to reinstate the Gaza ceasefire, initiate the second phase of the truce, and support the Arab plan for Gaza's reconstruction. The Armenian delegation was briefed on Egypt's stance regarding Libya, Sudan, the Sahel and Sahara, and the Horn of Africa. Discussions also touched on the security of the Red Sea and its negative impact on Suez Canal navigation and global trade. Talks further addressed the Russian-Ukrainian war, reflecting a convergence between Egyptian and Armenian views on several key regional and global issues. The Armenian side commended Egypt's pivotal role in promoting regional stability. Developments related to the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement were also discussed.
