One soldier was killed and eight were injured in the most recent attack on a military camp early Monday in Northern Sinai's Rafah, security sources said. Army conscript Mohamed Mahmoud Ali, 22, was shot in the head with life ammunition in an attack by unknown gunmen. On Sunday, unknown assailants opened fire on a Central Security checkpoint in Arish, causing no causalities. At least 22 people have been killed while 130 were wounded in armed attacks in the Sinai Peninsula since the army's ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi on July 3 following mass anti-regime demonstrations.
