Egypt's Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly held a meeting on Thursday with Executive Director and Board Member at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), representing the Arab Group and the Maldives Mohamed Maait to review cooperation with the fund. The discussions focused on the IMF Executive Board's recent approval of the fourth review of Egypt's economic reform programme. The meeting confirmed the disbursement of a $1.2 billion tranche, with officials highlighting the programme's role in stabilising macroeconomic indicators, increasing foreign currency reserves, meeting financing needs, reducing inflation, and supporting economic growth. The meeting further addressed global and regional economic developments, including expectations for upcoming IMF meetings this month and the impact of global trade shifts on growth prospects.
