Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty discussed with his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, the Egyptian-Qatari efforts to stabilise the ceasefire in Gaza, particularly amid the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the strip. In a phone call on Wednesday, the ministers addressed the escalating tensions in the West Bank, citing Israel's intensified incursions into Palestinian cities, land confiscations, and expanding settlement activities. They also condemned repeated Israeli provocations, including the recent storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israel's national security minister. The discussion also covered the work of the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee and ways to activate its role in supporting the Palestinian people, following up on the outcomes of the emergency Arab summit held in Cairo on March 4. The call reflected the two countries' shared stance on developments in the Palestinian territories. Both ministers stressed that stability in the region is unattainable without the Palestinian people attaining their full legitimate rights, foremost among them the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
