Egypt, France discuss education, research projects

Egypt's Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ayman Ashour met on Tuesday with French Ambassador to Egypt, Eric Chevallier, to review joint projects, including the new campus of the French University in Egypt and Senghor University.
Ashour reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to the French public university project, backed by both governments, aiming to create a next-generation smart academic institution, as per a Cabinet statement.
The first phase is set for completion by October 2025, with a focus on advanced technology fields.
Discussions also covered preparations for the Egypt-France Scientific Conference on Higher Education, which will bring together universities and major French companies.
Both sides explored expanding scholarships and research collaborations in key sectors.
