Nepal's EV imports rise 1.57% in 7m

Nepal reported on Sunday a 1.57 per cent increase in electric vehicle (EV) imports during the first seven months of the current 2024-25 fiscal year, with a total of 6,256 EVs imported, compared to the same period in 2023-24.
The EVs were valued at 14.75 billion rupees ($1.05 billion) and generated total revenues of 9.08 billion rupees ($64.7 million), as reported by the Department of Customs.
The department pointed out that China was responsible for 76 per cent of the total imports of EVs, with India coming in second at 23 per cent.
