President Abdel Fattah El Sisi announced that Egypt and Zambia have agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in political consultation, investment promotion, agriculture, aquaculture, and infrastructure. His remarks came during a joint press conference with Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema in Cairo on Monday. President Sisi affirmed Egypt's readiness to share its development expertise and provide support to Zambia in priority sectors, as well as to assist in improving institutional frameworks within the Zambian state. The two leaders also discussed investment opportunities in the strategic Lobito Corridor project, aiming to encourage Egyptian public and private sector participation in Zambia's investment landscape. This effort aligns with the ongoing Egypt-Zambia Business Forum, which is being held in Cairo in conjunction with President Hichilema's visit. The discussions also covered key developmental challenges facing Africa, including poverty, debt crises, and climate change. The two presidents emphasised the need for joint action and policy coordination to advance Africa's priorities on the international agenda. They also highlighted the importance of reforming continental organisations to better address the region's challenges. He called for greater utilisation of regional trade frameworks such as the African Continental Free Trade Area, COMESA, and the Tripartite Free Trade Area to foster regional integration. The talks further addressed regional and international issues of mutual concern, including developments in Gaza, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Horn of Africa, the Red Sea's security, and water security. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to promoting stability in Africa and the Middle East and agreed to continue consultations and coordination on these matters. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
