Remittances from Egyptians working abroad surged by a remarkable 47.1 per cent year-on-year to reach $26.3 billion in the first eleven months of 2024, according to the central bank latest data on Wednesday. The strong performance of remittances reflects the positive impact of economic reforms implemented in March 2024. In November alone, remittances surged by a significant 65.4 per cent, compared to the same period last year, reaching approximately $2.6 billion. From July to November 2024, the growth momentum continued, with remittances soaring by an impressive 77 per cent year-on-year to reach $13.8 billion. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
