Euro area unemployment dips in July

The euro area's unemployment rate dropped to 6.4 percent in July 2024, down from 6.5 per cent in June 2024 and from 6.6 per cent in July 2023.
The EU unemployment rate remained stable at 6.0 per cent compared with June 2024 as well as with July 2023.
Year-on-year, the euro area saw a decrease of 190,000, while the EU's unemployment dropped by 72,000.
Youth unemployment in July 2024 was 14.2 per cent in the euro area, down from 14.4 per cent in June, and 14.5 per cent in the EU, slightly lower than 14.6 per cent the previous month.
