Egypt's Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, Rania Al-Mashat, on Tuesday underscored the significance of bolstering the strategic partnership between Egypt and Japan. Speaking during the annual high-level policy dialogue with the Japanese government and financial institutions, Al-Mashat highlighted the role of this partnership in achieving Egypt's vision for sustainable development. The dialogue, a crucial avenue for strengthening bilateral relations, occurs at a significant moment as Egypt and Japan commemorate the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic ties. Al-Mashat also reiterated her ministry's commitment to advancing Egyptian-Japanese relations, in line with the priorities of the current stage. She emphasised the importance of empowering the private sector to enhance Egyptian-Japanese relations. She also stressed the need for increased financial support for private sector via the "Hafiz" platform, which provides both financial and technical assistance. Al-Mashat outlined strategies to integrate the Egyptian-Japanese partnership with Egypt's Vision 2030. This includes expanding co-operation in capacity building, education, and efforts toward equality and integration. She stressed the significance of investing in human-centered development, focusing on skills development and vocational training. The strategies also aim to increase the number of Japanese schools in Egypt to 1,700 in different regions, enhance technical education, and set up 62 technological and vocational schools as part of Egypt's 2024-2025 and 2026-2027 plans.
