India's direct tax collections surge 24% YoY

The Indian government has reported a significant increase in direct tax collections for the period from April 1 to August 11. Gross direct tax collections surged by 24 per cent year-on-year to reach 8.13 trillion rupees ($96.87 billion).
After accounting for refunds, net direct tax collections amounted to 6.93 trillion rupees, representing a 22.5 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.
