The ICT network design is based on full layer 3 routing from the core to access providing enhanced performance as compared to the traditional design of having layer 3 between core and distribution supported by an average contention ratio of 5:1. This is important since this next generation network supports low latency and extensive bandwidth for Research & Video applications such as -High Performance Computing, IPTV, Digital Signage, Central reservations and control, Lecture Capture, HD Video Conferencing and Telepresence as part of the Unified Communications Systems. The campus technology is designed to support academic and research functions using best-of-breed systems integration, purpose designed for UAEU by Visionaire to meet immediate and future needs of UAEU.
