TotalEnergies to resume Danish Tyra field production on March
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 22 - 01 - 2024

TotalEnergies will resume production in the Tyra gas filed in Denmark next March, according to Reuters citing a company's statement on Monday.
According to the French oil major, Denmark's largest gas field is scheduled to be launched on March 31 after being temporarily shut down for redevelopment in 2019.
"Depending on project progress, it could be (started) earlier in March. The outcome of tests now suggests that a ramp-up to full technical capacity is expected to take four months from the restart," the statement included.
TotalEnergies has previously stated that 2.8 billion cubic metres (bcm) of gas were anticipated to be delivered annually from the redeveloped field, Tyra II.
After more than 30 years of production in the gas field, the seabed sank several metres beneath Tyra's platforms, forcing the suspension of operations. Before its temporary shutdown, Tyra gas field was the processing and export centre for over 90 per cent of the gas produced in the Danish sector of the North Sea.
As part of the renovations, outdated installations were taken down and recycled, and new ones — including ones with longer platform legs — were installed.
With a 43.2 per cent stake in the Danish Underground Consortium (DUC), TotalEnergies manages Tyra II on the group's behalf. Owners Nordsofonden, a Danish state-owned company, and Oslo-listed BlueNord own 20 per cent and 36.8 per cent of it respectively.
