EGX closes up for 2nd straight day on Jan. 15

Egypt's stock market closed on a green note for the second straight day on Monday. The main index EGX30 rose by 1.06 per cent to 26,250.73 points, while the small to mid-sized enterprises' index, EGX70, climbed by 1.32 per cent to 6,220.97 points, and EGX100 jumped by 1.09 per cent to 8,809.71 points.
The market cap reached 1,836,593,497,545 Egyptian pounds.
The Egyptians' and Arabs' transactions leaned towards selling with a net value of 237 million Egyptian pounds, and 146 million Egyptian pounds, respectively.
Meanwhile, the foreigners' transactions went with buying with 384 million Egyptian pounds.
The end-of-day trade hit 5.2 billion pounds with a total amount of 1.9 billion securities executed in 181 thousand transactions.
Top gainers on Monday
The shares of Misr National Steel SAE (ATQA.CA) climbed by 19.94 per cent to close at the price of 4.330 Egyptian pounds a share.
The shares of Sinai Cement (SCEM.CA) rose by 19.92 per cent, to close at the price of 12.100 Egyptian pounds a share.
The shares of Osool ESB Securities Brokerage (EBSC.CA) jumped by 18.51 per cent, to reach the price of 0.397 Egyptian pounds a share.
The shares of Iron And Steel for Mines and Quarries (ISMQ.CA) soared by 13.04 per cent, to close at the price of 3.640 Egyptian pounds per share.
Top losers on Monday
The shares of Wadi Kom Ombo Land Reclamation (WKOL.CA) dropped by 6.89 per cent, to close at the price of 88.820 Egyptian pounds a share.
The shares of Ismailia Development and Real Estate Co (IDRE.CA) declined by 4.99 per cent, to the price of 54.120 Egyptian pounds per share.
The shares of Golden Textiles and Clothes Wool (GTWL.CA) fell by 3.78 per cent, to close at the price of 26.710 Egyptian pounds per share.
The shares of ARAB POLVARA SPINNING & WEAVING CO. (APSW.CA) were behind by 3.59 per cent, to close at the price of 6.170 Egyptian pounds per share.
