The growth and progress of Kraft Foods company is the inevitable result of its distinguished policies. Kraft Foods Inc. - part of Mondelez International Group- believes in the importance of providing opportunities for managerial talent from different nationalities to lead the way in global markets. For this reason, the company has instated Basil Abul Ata as Managing Director for Egypt and Levant, which includes Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and Palestine.
Basil Abul Ata joined the company in 2007 as Regional Director of Marketing for North Africa and the Middle East, and during the following years he was assigned for several leading and strategic positions, including General Manager of Sales in Egypt, where he was able to achieve a quantum leap in the company's sales. Abul Ata then became the Director of New Market Strategies,a position that allowed him to demonstrate new horizons for growth and profitability through the discovery of inherent opportunities in each market, and the development of appropriate and effective strategies that enabled the company to take advantage of these opportunities and provide better marketing policies that meet the needs of consumers.
Basil, through these important regional positions, either in Egypt or the Middle East, has proved that he is the most successful choice to lead the company's march toward more success and enhance the company's role in Egypt as a central export hub diffusing products to more than 22 countries in the region.
In the same context, Gawad Abaza was chosen after holding this position until now to serve as Regional General Manager for Kraft Foods for South, Central and East Africa, which was based in Johannesburg in appreciation of the great success achieved in Egypt and Levant.
In 2010 Gawad operated as Chairman and Managing Director of Kraft Foods Egypt and Levant, and under his supervision, the company made great achievements and expanded its investments in Egypt to became the regional center for manufacturing and exporting many of the company's products, including Cadbury, Flake, Moro, Oreo, Tuc, Tang, Halls, Chiclets, Trident, and Clorets.
