Elsewedy, Gulf Data Hub to develop Africa's largest data centre in Egypt

Elsewedy Data Centres and the Emirati Gulf Data Hub have signed on Wednesday a MoU to develop Africa's largest data centre complex in Egypt with a total storage capacity of 192 megawatts, and a total power load of 300 megawatts in 5-7 years.
The agreement came during on the side-lines of the World Government Summit (WGS) and signed by Ahmed El Sewedy, non-executive chairman of El Sewedy Data Centers, and Tarek Mohammad Al Ashram, CEO and Founder of Gulf Data Hub.
The joint project aims at creating a $2.1 billion data centres hub, through developing 3 world-class data centres complexes split between 3 different locations across the country.
The partnership serves Elsewedy Data Centres' strategic plan of providing integrated projects and reliable energy solutions distinguished with efficient, eco-friendly and sustainable features, Elsewedy said.
Abdel Rahman El Sewedy, CEO of Elsewedy Data Centre praised the Egyptian government's support and guidance along with the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).
The project is expected to attract many private sector companies, banks, ministries, local Egyptian government institutions, as well as many international companies, according to the statement.
CEO of Gulf Data Hub Tarek Al Ashram said "there is no doubt that our partnership with Elsewedy Data Centers will enable us to achieve our goal and reinforce our dedication to meeting the needs of each customer every time."
Noteworthy that the all data centres are green and will be licensed and certified by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), an international organization concerned with preserving the environment.
