The National Bank of Egypt (NBE), the country's biggest state-run lender, has announced on Wednesday its pre-tax profits had reached 66 billion Egyptian pounds ($3.5 billion) in 18 months. Net profit after tax has stood at 293.7 billion pounds. The bank's financial position has recorded 3.6 trillion pounds at the end of June 2022, from 3 trillion pounds as of December 2021, and 2 trillion pounds. Customers' deposits have increased to 2.8 trillion pounds as of June 2022, from 2.4 trillion pounds in December 2021.
