Egypt to launch first ever exhibition for eco-friendly vehicles on Monday
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 04 - 01 - 2021

Egypt's first "Go Green Exhibition", highlighting the conversion of vehicles to clean energy and replacement technologies, will start on Monday at the Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC).
The two-day event, which will end on 6 January, has been organised under the sponsorship of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.
Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea said that the exhibition includes 11 workshops for the public and specialists to discuss important topics. They will also come away with all the information they need on the state initiative to replace and convert vehicles to natural gas, and the steps to complete the conversion.
Gamea added that the workshops will also discuss the benefits of using natural gas for cars, as well as how to benefit from the initiative. They aim to shed light on financing mechanisms available within the initiative to encourage higher numbers of conversions.
The minister said that that representatives from several ministries, as well as local and international stakeholders, experts, officials, industrialists, bank representatives, car manufacturers, and natural gas companies will participate in these workshops.
Gamea added that the exhibition will also see the signing of a number of Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) and financing contracts in the field of vehicle conversions to natural gas. It is expected that these agreements will promote the export of locally manufactured cars to foreign markets.
During the exhibition's activities, an initiative will be launched to convert cars to run on natural gas and raise awareness of economic and environmental benefits resulting from promoting natural gas use as a fuel for cars.
In addition to this, there will be the presentation of real vehicle models operating with natural gas or modified ones, including sedans, buses, microbuses, trucks, as well as models of electricity powered cars
