U.S. stocks tilted mostly lower Monday, a day ahead of the U.S. presidential election. “Our hope, probably shared by most investors, is the outcome is decided late tomorrow night and does not drag out over a number of days," Fred Dickson, chief investment strategist at Davidson Cos., wrote in a note. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 30.56 points, or 0.3%, to 13,062.60 in the early going. The S&P 500 index shed 4.21 points, or 0.3%, to 1,409.99. The Nasdaq Composite declined 1.33 points, or 0.1%, to 2,980.81. For every stock on the decline nearly two fell on the New York Stock Exchange, where 64 million shares traded by 9:45 a.m. Eastern.
