The US ambassador to Cairo Anne Patterson reaffirmed the strength of the Egyptian-American relations; especially Washington considers Egypt a significant partner to the US in the region, pointing to the depth of the bilateral relations which based on historical roots. In Sunday's statement during attending the conference titled "Tourism's Future in Alexandria and North Coast", Anne Patterson said the US President Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton, US Secretary of State, are committed to the aids submitted to Egypt, and the Congress's decision of reserving on some aids is a temporarily procedure at time it is being studying what Egypt's need. The ambassador referred that the USA will reconsider the aids' programs that concern providing job opportunities through supporting the tourism and agriculture sectors; elucidating that the USAID can help through holding conferences in order to boost cooperation in such a matter. She lauded the efforts that exerted in bolstering the tourism sector. She stressed on the necessity of cooperating between the private sector, the public sector, organizations, and authorities that support the training in the tourism sector as well other sectors to achieve sustainable development. Patterson also mentioned that some protest that downtown witnesses may affect the tourism as well the occupancy rates in downtown hotels; calling for stopping the protests to lessen fears and enhancing tourism.
