National Bank of Egypt (NBE), the country's largest state bank, signed a credit facility agreement worth 1 billion Egyptian pounds with Fiber Misr to finance the establishment of several IT projects. The deal with the telecommunications and information technology (IT) systems integrator is part of NBE's role in supporting major projects in key sectors, NBE's chairman Hisham Okasha said. Fiber Misr has set up several national projects, including upgrading the IT infrastructure of 2,500 secondary schools connecting them to the internet and establishing data centres for all ministries and state-run bodies at the premises of the Ministry of Defense in the New Administrative Capital, the company's chairman, Sherif Nabih, said.
