Egypt's ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) will "most likely" nominate Gamal Mubarak to run in next year's presidential elections if his father, President Hosni Mubarak, decides not to run, according to NDP General Secretariat member Ibrahim Kamel. "They will be the cleanest elections since the time of the Pharaohs," Kamel said, denying the party's involvement in a recently-launched Gamal-for-president electoral campaign. Kamel went on to accuse Mohamed ElBaradei, a potential contender in next year's elections, of "collaborating" with the Muslim Brotherhood opposition movement. "He should join a legal political party," Kamel said of ElBaradei. On Egypt's nascent nuclear energy program, Kamel said that the Dabaa site on Egypt's north coast was "unsuitable" for the construction of a nuclear reactor.
