Presidential candidate Amr Moussa received a mixed welcome on Monday during his visit to the Nile Delta city of Mansoura. Moussa's supporters extended him a warm welcome, although members of the Muslim Brotherhood shouted slogans against him, calling him a remnant of the former regime. Moussa gave a press conference, in which he said that he expects to win 51 percent of the votes in the upcoming presidential election. “The 99.9 percent era has long gone,” he remarked. He said the seven main presidential candidates are agreed on holding the elections earlier than the deadline set for them. “We need to end political frustrations soon,” he said. He also said that he is in favor of the Treachery Law. “Those who have jeopardized political life must be punished,” he said, warning against using the law as a means of revenge. “But I am against the Emergency Law,” he said, adding that the normal penal code is sufficient to deal with criminals.
