Ramadan fun: Tents where you can celebrate in style this year
Published in Almasry Alyoum on 01 - 08 - 2011

The word Ramadan brings to mind good food, delicious deserts, crowded streets and festive tents all over Cairo's neighborhoods. Ramadan tents are an important part of the festivity and offer those who appreciate a good time the chance to dine and enjoy oriental music.
The famous 3anil of the Imperial Boat opens its doors to a loving crowd tomorrow, 2 August. The tent occupies the deck of the boat offering a spectacular view, good food and good shisha.
It seems that tomorrow will be a busy day as Le Deck, at the Sofitel Gezira, will also open its doors to eager Cairenes offering delicious food for iftar and sohour from their renowned kebab place, Al-Kababgi. Le Deck also has an ice cream factory.
Bab el-Nil at the Fairmont is also launching tomorrow with a grand opening; expect delicious food by their famous Syrian chef. Each table has several board games and the lounges can be supplied with a computer for games and more. TV screens are all over the breezy terrace for those who can't miss their favorite show.
Sequoia is also known for its special Ramadan preparation; new décor, new uniforms and a new feel to the place. I hope this sense of newness also applies to their service and food!
First Mall's famous tent, Tagine, launches this Ramadan for the fifth year in a row. It is known for absolutely yummy food and chic interiors.
Ramadana at the Terrace in Designopolis is a good choice for those who live in 6th of October City and don't want to drive all the way to downtown for some fun. Ramadana launches on 10 August. Guests will enjoy delicious food, live performances, shisha, playstation and TV shows on a big screen in the tent.
Tofa7a is a new addition to the full plate of recreational tents in Ramadan; its location is strategic in Zamalek and the organizers promise a surprise performance every weekend.
For those who are staying in the North Coast, Turquaz and Natsu will be serving both Iftar and sohour.
Please note that reservation is a must for all these tents.
