The Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) on Wednesday asserted it does not interfere in the editorial policies of any media outlets. In a message posted on its official Facebook page, the SCAF said rumors about its interference are intended to drive a rift between the people and the military and reverse the achievements of the revolution. The SCAF emphasized the independence of Egyptian media, saying news organizations are accountable to the public for their performance. The military council added that all its decisions are made public and that one of its objectives is to restore Egypt's media leadership in the Arab world.
