The General Authority for Meteorology announced that Egypt will be exposed to 72 hours of bad weather starting Friday. It warned of flash floods in northern and central Sinai. The concentration of low and medium clouds is expected to increase in Cairo, in upper Egypt's Sohag and Assuit, and in the northern and eastern parts of the country, said Dr. Muhammad Eisa, chairman of the General Authority for Meteorology. The bad weather is expected to be accompanied by heavy rains and thunderstorms in coastal cities, which could result in flash floods in northern and central Sinai, in addition to sandy winds nationwide. Eisa pointed out that the weather will disrupt maritime traffic and cause low visibility. He added that the weather will be cold during the day and colder at night with temperatures reaching lows on Friday and Saturday night. He forecasted temperatures of 15 to 17 degrees Celsius in coastal cities, 16 to 18 degrees Celsius in Lower Egypt, Cairo and the northern part of Upper Egypt, and temperatures of 20 to 21 degrees Celsius in the southern part of Upper Egypt. Today's weather is fair in most parts of the country. A cold, misty night is predicted with rainfall expected on the north coast, according to Ali Qotb, head of Meteorological Analysis and Forecast Department.
