Saudi authorities on Sunday deported 30 Egyptians for illegal residency, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry has said. Mohamed Abdel Hakam, assistant foreign minister for expatriate Egyptians' affairs, said that the Egyptian Consulate in Riyadh has, in cooperation with Saudi authorities, finished procedures necessary for their return to Egypt. Abdel Hakam added that among those deported are Egyptians carrying commercial, family or health visas who have outstayed their legally mandated period, and these Egyptians will be denied entry into the kingdom in the future. Also among those deported are Egyptians with expired residency permits and Egyptian employees consistently absent from work. Abdel Hakam called for respecting Saudi laws and warned of consequences faced by transgressors including fines, imprisonment, deportation and future bans on entry to Saudi Arabia.
