Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak appointed on Saturday ten new members in parliament, including seven from the country's Christian minority, the official MENA news agency reported. Among the newly appointed are Edward Ghali Boutros Dahabi, Judge Mohamed Mahmoud Dakroury, and Judge Iskandar Ghattas George. According to the Egyptian Law, the president has the right to appoint ten members of the 518- parliament seat. Mubarak has traditionally appointed Christian Copts in the 10-seat quota in order to address their under-representation in parliament. Copts have complained that the ruling National Democratic Party had nominated only one percent of Copts in his electoral ticket during the recently concluded elations. Copts constitute between seven to ten percent of Egypt's 80 million citizens.
