Officers from the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) who are in the third day of their sit-in strike in front of the People's Assembly said they have been threatened by their general managers who said they would fire all participants of the sit-in as well as anyone who speaks with the media. The officers insisted they are not afraid of the threats. Yesterday, several women and children joined the protest, sitting on boxes and holding signs declaring their legal right to protest. They said the declarations by the governors were untrue, and they will escalate the protest if their demands are not met, which include making their positions more permanent and a salary increase from their current monthly pay of no more than LE99. The Chairman of the IDSC Professor Maged Osman said the information centers for local development belong to the Ministry of State for administrative development and not the IDSC.
