Egyptian authorities have announced a decision to close the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip for the duration of the six-day Eid holidays beginning on 15 November. They also announced a decision to close the crossing on weekends (Fridays and Saturdays) and national holidays, effective as of 26 December. Meanwhile, a humanitarian aid caravan from the United Arab Emirates crossed into the strip on Monday via the Rafah and Al-Auja border crossings. “The caravan is composed of 33 trucks laden with food and medical supplies,” said UAE Red Crescent Chairman Ahmed al-Mazrouy. “We've been dispatching aid convoys every four months since the outset of Israel's aggression against Gaza.” Translated from the Arabic Edition.
