Judicial sources unveiled that two committees from the Public Funds Investigation Department and the Capital Market Authority (CMA) would determine where the victims' money has gone in connection with the investment case against businessman Nabil el-Boushi and his partner Fikri Badr Eddin, chairman of the Optima Co. The committees should complete their job within the next few days. Meanwhile, Dr. Samir Sabri, lawyer of some of the victims, said he met el-Bushi in his detention in Dubai. He affirmed that the meeting lasted 25 minutes and that he failed to persuade him to give the money back to the depositors. Instead, he reported him repeating one single sentence: "The money's gone, I've lost everything." The judicial sources said the Public Funds committee is currently examining the defendants' accounts and balances in banks as well as their properties. For its part, the CMA committee is examining the shares of the two Optima companies - the Egyptian and the English ones - to find out which one received the victims' deposits and how the money has been disposed of, the sources added. A judicial expert said the committees' reports would determine the direction of the case, saying the two defendants might be charged with fraud or receiving money without returning it. CMA Chairman Ahmed Saad refused to talk about the contempt of the report about el-Boushi's situation, saying new elements might be unveiled that could change the truth. He said he would submit the report to the Public Prosecutor over the next two days, while he refused to speak about el-Boushi.
