President of the World Federation of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, said Egypt has declined receiving the delegation of the Federation to meet with President Hosni Mubarak because circumstances were inappropriate. In a press conference at Doha International Airport yesterday after returning from a tour in Saudi Arabia, Syria, Jordan and Turkey to urge presidents and kings to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, Qaradawi said the Federation will hold a conference in the Qatari capital of Doha soon to discuss the Palestinian issue and ways to support it. He said the delegation called on the presidents and kings to pressure the Egyptian regime to open the Rafah crossing and allow the passage of humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza.
