Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, said OIC would shortly establish a human rights council for Islamic countries and draw a program to reduce poverty in the Islamic world. OIC would also call for a conference to consider the Muslim refugees' statuses around the world, he added. “The Organization's general secretariat has built an observatory to monitor on daily basis the problem of Islamophobia in the West. It released its first report last March, which was distributed to all member states during a recent Dakar Summit,” Ihsanoglu told the Middle East News Agency. The report is distributed on monthly basis not only among the member states but also among other international organizations. It is also uploaded on OIC's official Website, he noted. “Islamophobia and blasphemy of religions are among the top challenges facing the Islamic world,” he said, adding that there must be a dialogue with the West based on equality and mutual respect. The dialogue's main end must be the peaceful coexistence of all nations and dialogue should be seen as “an academic methodology,” he remarked. “We live an age in which biased campaigns and anti-Islam activities are organized by sides that target the noble Islamic teachings and symbols in order to incite hatred against Islam and Muslims.” Ihsanoglu called on the UN Security Council and secretary-general to take immediate action to stop the Israeli assault on the Palestinian people and protect the Palestinians from Israel's aggression
